Corner Grimburgwal
Year of construction: 1875
Architect: A.N. Godefroy
Style: Neo Dutch Renaissance
Originally a double waiting room for the pharmacy and poliyclinic of the Binnengasthuis. On the roof an openwork tower with clockwork. Because of this tower the building was called Under the Clock. In the 20th century an STD-clinic was founded in the building. From then onwards, suffering from an STD was called: ‘suffering under the clock’. The building is located at the waterside of Grimburgwal on a narrow bridge to the Binnengasthuis campus.
