NieuwezijdsVoorburgwal 304
Corner Rosmarijnsteeg
Period of construction: probably 17th century
Unobtrusive building with a remarkable front. It looks as if the upper part and the lower part have been twisted like a peppermill. Nowadays a shop for cooking utensils. We translocated it to a rock on the shore. In the front at the right side we changed a door into a window, because a door would be too dangerous in the new situation. The person in the background should be on his guard, because at this location the sea level rises faster than a horse can run.
