Herengracht 395 Corner Beulingsloot Year of construction: 1882 Architects: J.P.F. van Rossum and W.J. Vuyk Around 1620 a shop-property with a stepped gable was built here. In the 18th century it was a pub for a long time. Later the building fell into disrepair, but in 1882 it was rebuilt as an office building. A new stepped gable with white decorations was built , as well as a characteristic tower in typical 19th century neo-style, giving this building the looks of a country house. The black paint on the walls gives a spooky impression. During renovation in 2013 the black paint was removed.
