Haarlemmerdijk 39
Year of construction: 1896
Style: Art Nouveau (Jugendstil)
Architect: F.M.J. Caron
This shop-property was constructed for the fish and fruit business. In the front is the name of the customer: N. Roeraade. On the tableaus an octopus, a seal, a sea horse and fish are depicted. The plasterwork has motifs of flowers. The small tower sits asymmetrically on the building way and therefore has a separate hoisting hook. The cheerful, frivolous architecture gives a sunny accent to this popular shopping street.
